In Ghana, the Western chimpanzee is found in rainforests located in the southwest part of the country. Chimpanzees can be found in Bia National Park and Nini-Suhien National Park, but are believed to have disappeared from many other protected areas. Habitat loss has greatly impacted the chimpanzee population in Ghana, and bushmeat hunting is a major concern as an estimated 90% of the national population regularly eats bushmeat
